My Story

My Story

My early years were defined by abuse and criticism, shrouded in fear and scarcity. Despite the relentless negativity, I chose to ignore those who doubted me. From the outset, I believed in a brighter, more loving future beyond the confines of my troubled home. My quest for a life of beauty and unconditional love led me to overcome countless hurdles, offering profound lessons in the process.

Purpose

I founded KJ Woodworking with the intention of providing my children and family with cherished items that would foster togetherness and love. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention and care, ensuring the highest quality. Holding my work, whether in your hands or in your home, serves as a reminder that you have the power to improve your life through your attitude and responses.

Life on Purpose

Life is a tapestry of experiences, and each of us carries unique stories of hardship and injustice. Some face the challenge of being unwanted, others the pain of abuse. But here's the remarkable truth: we hold the power to shape our own narrative. Our past may have been filled with challenges, but it's our response to those hardships that defines our future. Don't wait for regrets to pile up; seize the present moment, for we have the extraordinary ability to choose how we view and transform every part of our story. Live your life now, unburdened by regrets, and embrace the beauty of your unique journey.

Passion

I love wood. I think many people love wood. For centuries wood has been a popular material to create things. I’m not oblivious to the fact that I’m not the first woodworker to create wooden things and I most definitely will not be the last. So, let me tell you why I love wood so much.

I love how different each piece of wood is. I love that you have several types of wood and that each one of those has its own unique qualities that make it good for different types of things. I love how sometimes I get the exact same type of wood; the exact same piece and it can vary in so many ways. I love how many stories are in each piece and oh, if they could only tell you what experience they endured to make them that way. I feel like everyone has their own stories and if we looked at them with compassion we start to see a story. If we began to look at each other as we look at wood seeing the unique obstacles and trials they had to go through to get their story wounds we’d see beauty in the person and beauty in ourselves beauty in the lives we live.
